QUARANTINE PROFILE: Tedy

We’ve launch a profile series to highlight how artists are spending their time during quarantine. Several times a week we’ll highlight a new artist across the globe and see how they’re keeping busy during COVID-19 lockdowns.

The soulful Tedy joins us for another lockdown chat! Tedy is currently based in Montreal and bringing us his latest EP Boys Don’t Cry today. It’s chock-full of signature Tedy tracks, which are laced with a rhythmic pop/atmospheric R&B sound that we can’t help but love. Boys Don’t Cry is already getting added to my favorites for this year. Be sure to check it out below and see what Tedy has been up to during quarantine.

Where have you been spending your quarantine?

I’m solo quarantining in my Airbnb in Toronto and have been taking some walks here and there around the city.

How have you been staying busy during quarantine?

I have to keep busy, I am a workaholic by nature. I need to feel like I’m doing something at all times or I will drive myself insane. So I try to write music all the time. I will literally turn everything off and write.

Anything new you’ve learned? / Something new you’ve done:

Not necessary a new skill, but quarantine definitely made me think a lot. I’ve learned that it’s okay and it’s not selfish to want to be happy and do what you want!

What’s something new you’ve cooked/baked?

This quarantine I haven’t cooked once…not going to lie. But I have been cooking since I was 5 and can cook anything! If I wasn’t a singer I’d be a chef.

Anything new we should know about that you’re working on?

My new EP comes out on September 11th.  Also, I’m currently writing for my next EP so that’s exciting!

Go to quarantine snack:

Almonds! I love the tiny Sriracha flavoured packs!

Song (or album) you’ve had on repeat:

Dominic Fike - what could possibly go wrong on repeat

What’s your go to song to make you feel less alone?

Daisy - “Ashnikko”

What is keeping you happy?

Experimenting with different styles or writing music and evolving my sound.
