Pitchfork Music Festival (Day One) @ Chicago's Union Park

We sent our fearless co-founder Victoria Sanders to Pitchfork Fest for an array of bands and 105F humid Chicago summer temperatures. Who did we see? How did it go? Here’s a little visual recap below for you!

Day one brought us MIKE, Valee, Sky Ferreira, Rico Nasty, Earl Sweatshirt, Pusha T, Mavis Staples, and headliners, HAIM. Everyone sweat through their clothes, their shoes, and was glistening by the end of the night, but everyone came to dance and sing.

No Rome, Pale Waves, and The 1975

May 8, 2019 | United Center | Chicago, IL

The first time I saw The 1975 was at a 500 capacity venue in Chicago that I have spent the better part of the last 8 years working at. The 1975 played at Chicago’s Lincoln Hall in October 2013 to a (most likely completely over-capacity) sold-out room, with now defunct opener, Linus Young. Fast forward five and a half years later, and we’re at the United Center, home of the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks. The place Michael Jordan last won his last NBA Championship ring at. What can be said that already hasn’t about The 1975? The production and stage design as immense as the show itself, and with that, they brought along Dirty Hit Records label-mates No Rome and Pale Waves as openers. Here’s a visual recap of the night from Victoria Sanders.
