Orville Peck brought his heartfelt brand of alternative country to Roundhouse in London, England, on June 30th. This venue was built in the 1800’s as a railway shed; its striking shape and antique build fit right into the band’s modernised wild west aesthetic.
Orville Peck opened his set by informing the audience of his three nonnegotiable rules:
If you want to sing along, you have to sing along
If you want to dance, you have to dance
If you want to cry, come on, baby, cry
Orville and his band had the crowd captivated as they dashed through the set with album-quality performances of songs throughout their discography. This included fan favorites from Pony, Bronco, Stampede, and his newest release, Appaloosa.
This show was a celebration of not only Orville’s music, but of the queer community and queer love. To celebrate the last night of Pride Month, the masked singer even graced the crowd with a gorgeous version of Chappell Roan’s Pink Pony Club that had the entire room on its feet, arm in arm, yelling every word.
The crowd was enthralled by Peck’s voice and cowboy charm, and it seems that even without his go-to set of rules, everyone in the building would have sung, danced, and cried.

It’s the third day of the Brockwell Live Summer Festival—a fusion of jazz, soul, funk, and hip-hop—and Cross The Tracks pulsates throughout Brixton’s Brockwell Park, bringing old souls and new ears to South London.
Eve Jihan Cooper, known to most as simply Eve (or Ruff Ryders’ First Lady for those who’ve known her since the blonde braids), took to the stage to headline the afternoon, and her performance was the standout of the lineup.
Her all-black attire and potent, smoky voice mesmerised young, old, and older alike—with the audience rocking to classics such as ‘Who’s That Girl’ and, of course, ‘Let Me Blow Ya Mind’. What made this performance extra special was her tribute to the legendary DMX, who passed away in April 2021.

British pop legends Madness played The O2 arena in London as part of their Sound of Madness tour. Playing all the fans favourites as well as some brand new tracks, Madness gave an impressive performance that reminded us why they’re in the list of the top selling UK groups of all time.

Shindignation was a one day DIY-style music festival, spread across 4 venues in East London, showcasing an impressive line-up made of local bands ranging from Punk-Rock to Neo-Soul.
It was rather impossible for me to keep bouncing between the 4 venues and so I settled at the main one- The Engine Rooms (normally a rehearsing space)- where I was happy to discover local up and coming bands alongside the more experienced ones.

Following the release of her first recorded Jazz album ‘Stripped’ last year, the iconic soul singer Macy Gray returned to London to dazzle the crowd with her incredible vocal and musical skills.
With the intimate set up of a sitting-down concert at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire and a full band backing her up, Macy did not disappoint and delivered a soulful show which has left everyone with a taste for more.
