The night started with a lovely acoustic performance by pop artist Leanna Firestone. Her interaction with the crowd was refreshing. World Cafe Live was packed with laughter and sing-alongs.
Maddie Zahm, the main act of the night (Pennsylvania Native). Tonight happened to be Maddie’s birthday, and the crowd (when they got the chance) roared into ‘Happy Birthday’ flustering the singer.
Maddie played a song titled ‘Sheets’ a new song from her upcoming album - it’s bass/drum heavy and extremely catchy - keep an ear out for that drop (I know I will). During (lady Killer) her pianist and guitarist switched instruments & the house turned the disco ball on it turned into a full-fledged party.
Maddie brought her “best friend/roommate” Katie Turner out for Funny Fat Friend instant goosebumps before the encore someone came out with a cake for Maddie & everyone sang happy birthday yet again.
One thing I feel about this tour is that there will always be fan interaction. I don’t think there was a single person who wasn’t singing along all night, this was such a personable show.

Tonight’s Flying Solo tour stop started off with the talented Abby Anderson, a Country singer from Southlake, Texas. Opening with a wonderful Acoustic rendition of ‘Circles’ (Post Malone).
The Flying Solo tour was meant to be a tour to connect with fans on a more personal level as well as experiment with live music. Both performances of the night were primarily acoustic except for a few songs where Hunter’s friend Alex came out and played a few songs with him.
Hunter started his set off with ‘Wallflower’ (Red Sky Continued). This tour was unlike any I’ve seen, it was interactively crowd-based. During the show, there was a phone number you could text and have a chance to go on stage with Hunter. Three Lucky fans were invited on stage for a few songs.
Hunter said earlier in the night that the setlist is never the same, making this a multiple-visit type of tour. Ending the night with a deep sigh, Hunter played his top hit (personally, not in my eyes) ‘Wanted’ (Self Titled).
Slaughter Beach Dog @ The Fillmore - Philadelphia

On Saturday Nov, 18th 2023 Philadelphia welcomed Slaughter Beach Dog home with open arms at the Fillmore in Fishtown. Start off with the opening song - “Bobcat Club” from their most recent release Crying, Laughing, Waving, Smiling. Before the third song of the night - lead Jake Ewald heard the crowd scream out something about the chandeliers at the Fillmore. Which sparked up a conversation, the team at the venue decided to light them up. It was a beautiful sight. (If you’ve never seen it try screaming it during a silent section of a gig too.) The rest of the show was stunning, the lights, crowd interaction, and the energy of everyone in the room was remarkable. One of the four (yes four) encore songs they played, they dedicated the song ‘Fish Fry’ to @SlaughterBeepDog who was in attendance—an absolutely amazing night. I highly suggest catching them at another hometown gig.
Neon Trees @ Theatre of Living Arts - Philadelphia

The Favorite Daze tour started with openers Silent Rival (CA), and Laundry Day (NY). Ending with Neon Trees. I’ll be honest I had never heard of Silent Rival, but they left a mark on me with their performance that night. Sara (Vocalist) sounded amazing all night, and Jon (guitarist) ended up on the barricade. A member from Laundry Day actually came out and played drums while the drummer for Silent Rival played. All of which hyped up the crowd, warming them up for Laundry Day.
Along with not knowing of Silent Rival, I had not come across Laundry Day prior to the Favorite Daze Tour. Laundry day brought out a Lorenzo’s pizza box as a prop (if you’re a Philadelphia native you know the vibes). I was pleasantly surprised with their set and will be adding them to the rotation.
Neon Trees started off the night with “Versions of You: from their EP of the same name released in 2021. Tyler (lead vocalist) draped in a metallic Purple / Blue suit running from side stage to side stage. Proving the band is ‘Still Young’, and knows how to keep it ‘Moving in the Dark’.
Neon Trees controlled their crowd with their songs, and energy the entire night. Ending their show with ‘When the night is over’. They had three encore songs. Officially ending the night with fan favorite ‘Everybody Talks’. Yet another tour that is a must-see, their next stop is Detroit MI!
Misterwives @ The Fillmore - Philadelphia

The night started off with opener Raffaella (check her out if you haven’t yet, you won't be disappointed). She had an amazing opening set that had the crowd locked in.
Misterwives started the night off with Out of Your Mind, which also happens to be the Opening song to their senior album (released July 14, 2023). Mandy (lead vocalist) was extremely active on stage and with the crowd. I believe at one point she was semi-in the crowd via the barricade. The band let us know that they had practiced synchronicity for the song ‘ End of My Rope’. The song mixed with the 6ft screens behind them showing lyrics/videos was extremely awesome to see live.
Mandy at one point got on a 6ft riser (she was on it earlier in the night as well) to sing Ultraviolet, the last song on their senior album. She had put a vest on with arrows alluding to the album’s cover. The night closed out with Bishopp Briggs, The ‘Baggage’ singer appeared on the riser with ‘Art of Survival' as her first song. I’ve never seen such an energetic artist on stage before. It was hard to keep track of what part of the stage she was on; she’s insanely good at what she does. She had told us (the crowd) that Her son was in the back (he’s on tour with her) and everyone cheered. Of course, Briggs couldn’t end the night without her iconic song ‘River’ from her album ‘Church of Scars’. I highly suggest checking out the Don’t Look Down tour if you’re one of the next stops.
