Eric Nam has been called an accidental K-Pop star. The Korean-American superstar competed on Star Audition: Birth of a Great Star 2 in Seoul in 2011/12. He placed within the top five, and there’s been no looking back. This January, Nam released his second English-language album, There and Back Again, and has been supporting it’s release on a sold-out US tour. Fans lined up hours in advance of the Chicago show coming from cities near and far to experience the show, which had amazing production, choreography and energy. The fan-created signs ranged from kid-friendly to can’t-show-your-grandmother, and Eric made sure to check every one of them out. We covered the show in Chicago, with the fantastic and dreamy Lyn Lapid opening up.

Still Woozy (Interscope) came to Chicago with a massively full crowd ready to dance and sing along for his If This Isn't Nice Tour. The room was already full by the time Wallice took the stage, one of Dirty Hit Records’s newest artists. Day Two
Day two was more hot, more humid, and more intense than day one. Those who made it back out to the park for round two were more than ready to kick off their day with Chicago’s own Ric Wilson - who if you have not yet heard of him, you will soon. He’s doing major things, bringing an energy that you can’t ignore to the stage. Ric get’s his own gallery, and then some with his in the crowd dance.

BANKS with Samoht @ House of Vans Chicago
BANKS curated House of Vans the night before her third record, III, was released and it was an intense, beautiful show full to the walls of fans ready for more and more. Samoht opened, and impressed everyone in the room (and even those choosing to stay outside by the variety of food trucks at the show).

Day One
Day one brought us MIKE, Valee, Sky Ferreira, Rico Nasty, Earl Sweatshirt, Pusha T, Mavis Staples, and headliners, HAIM. Everyone sweat through their clothes, their shoes, and was glistening by the end of the night, but everyone came to dance and sing.

House of Vans kicked of the 2019 summer in Chicago with their new Curated By series with Long Beach’s own Vince Staples. Since he is one of our co-founder’s favorite artists to take photos of, we sent her out to cover this night. No Rome, Pale Waves, and The 1975

The first time I saw The 1975 was at a 500 capacity venue in Chicago that I have spent the better part of the last 8 years working at. The 1975 played at Chicago’s Lincoln Hall in October 2013 to a (most likely completely over-capacity) sold-out room, with now defunct opener, Linus Young. Fast forward five and a half years later, and we’re at the United Center, home of the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Blackhawks. The place Michael Jordan last won his last NBA Championship ring at. What can be said that already hasn’t about The 1975? The production and stage design as immense as the show itself, and with that, they brought along Dirty Hit Records label-mates No Rome and Pale Waves as openers. The Jorja and Kali Tour @ Aragon Ballroom, Chicago

Chicago had waited for this tour. Jorja Smith and Kali Uchis together on The Jorja and Kali Tour. Merch lines were as long as the line that stretched around the block for fans to get into a very sold out Aragon Ballroom this past Tuesday. Our co-founder, Victoria Sanders, headed out to capture the night and sing along to Kali Uchis’ cover of Radiohead’s Creep with everyone else in the building.
